Complete Ban on Pressure Horns in Buses, Cars, Motorcycles, and All Types of Vehicles
Jalandhar News: Keeping in view the guidelines issued by the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh, Additional District Magistrate Amaninder Kaur has exercised the powers vested under the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, and Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023 to issue fresh orders.
According to the orders, within the jurisdiction of District Jalandhar, the sound level of loudspeakers used at marriage palaces, public places, and religious institutions must be kept below 10 decibels.
Additionally, the ADM has completely banned pressure horns on buses, cars, motorcycles, and all other categories of vehicles.
The orders also state that prior permission is mandatory before using loudspeakers at marriage palaces, public locations, and similar venues. Even after obtaining permission, loudspeakers can be used only between 6 AM and 10 PM.
These orders will remain in force from November 23, 2025, to January 22, 2026.
