Toronto: Almost all major airports in Canada were evacuated on Thursday following bomb threats, leading to flight delays and passenger inconvenience, officials said.
Security agencies launched immediate checks across airports before allowing flights to resume from most locations. Navigation Canada (NAV Canada) said in a statement on X that bomb threats had been received at airports in Ottawa, Montreal, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Calgary and Vancouver.
“All employees are safe and temporary restrictions have been imposed at the respective airports,” NAV Canada said.
Flights resumed after security checks were completed, although operations were delayed due to the threats.
