Mumbai: The Income Tax Department on Thursday conducted searches at the Mumbai residence of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty as part of an investigation into financial transactions linked to her restaurant venture, Bastian Garden City.
According to sources, multiple teams of the department have been examining documents at her residence and other connected locations since morning.
The action is reportedly related to alleged tax irregularities and financial dealings associated with the restaurant.
Responding to the development, Shilpa Shetty denied the allegations and described them as baseless. She said the matter is already under legal challenge and a petition related to the case is pending before the high court.
