Chandigarh: A team of the Food Safety Department, led by SDM Captain Parmesh Singh, raided a paneer manufacturing unit named Singla Traders in Kangthali, following a complaint about the quality of paneer being produced at the facility.
During the inspection, 21 quintals of paneer, packed in 25 kg blocks, was found to be substandard and was destroyed on the spot. Officials said that the paneer initially failed to meet food safety norms during testing conducted at the site.
The team also collected four samples from the factory—one each of paneer and ghee, and two of milk. These have been sent to a laboratory for detailed analysis. Further action will be taken based on the results of the lab reports.
The raid was conducted under the supervision of SDM Captain Parmesh Singh along with Food Safety Officer Dr. Pawan Chahal.
