Ambala: The rainy season has officially started in Haryana and is expected to continue until June 19. According to the Meteorological Department, pre-monsoon winds will become active from June 19, potentially bringing heavier showers to the north-eastern parts of the state.
Officials said there is a 50 percent chance of rainfall in the northeastern areas of Haryana today.
A yellow alert has been issued for Panchkula, Yamunanagar, Ambala, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat, Sonipat, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Palwal. Wind speeds may reach up to 40 kilometres per hour in these regions.
Meanwhile, Haryana Congress leader and Lalu Yadav’s brother-in-law Captain Ajay Yadav shared images on social media showing severe waterlogging in Gurugram following heavy rains late Tuesday evening. “The rain has worsened the city’s condition. Is this the dream of a smart city?” he wrote.
