Two dead, one injured after electrocution in Sonepat shop

Sonepat: A shopkeeper and his helper died, while another helper was injured after being electrocuted while cleaning a shop at Mission Chowk in Sonepat on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred around 2 pm.

Police said the mishap began when a helper went to check the water tank on the roof and was electrocuted. The shopkeeper and another helper were also electrocuted while trying to rescue him.

Following the incident, shopkeepers in the area closed their establishments in protest and mourning.

The deceased were identified as Narendra Gupta (60), a resident of Mission Chowk, and Shubham (30) from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. The injured, Rohit from Arya Nagar in Sonepat, is undergoing treatment. The cause of the electric current spread is yet to be ascertained.
