10 Indian youths recruited into Russian army killed in Ukraine war, three from Punjab

New Delhi: Ten Indian youths who had gone abroad to earn a livelihood and were later recruited into the Russian army have been killed while fighting in the Ukraine-Russia war. Among the deceased are three youths from Punjab.

According to information, the remaining seven youths belonged to Uttar Pradesh and Jammu. The deaths were confirmed after efforts were made to trace Indian youths who had joined the Russian army and had gone missing.

Jagdip Singh, a youth from Punjab, had travelled to Russia, including Moscow and other locations, to search for Indian nationals who were recruited into the Russian army but whose whereabouts were unknown. While no information was initially available, the deaths of 10 youths were later officially confirmed.

After returning to India recently, Jagdip Kumar visited the office of Rajya Sabha MP Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal and presented documents confirming that the Russian army had acknowledged the deaths of these 10 youths.

The development has left families shattered. While parents were waiting for the safe return of their sons, they received heartbreaking news much later that their children had lost their lives in the Ukraine-Russia war.
