140 officials including IAS, IPS officers shifted in Punjab ahead of Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti polls

Chandigarh: Ahead of the announcement of the Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections in Punjab, the AAP government has ordered a major administrative reshuffle, transferring 140 officers including 2 IAS, 3 IPS, 75 PPS and 59 PCS officers. The transfer list surfaced shortly after the State Election Commission declared the election schedule.

Among the IAS officers, Harjinder Singh has been moved from ADC (General) Gurdaspur to ADC (Rural Development) Barnala. Jaspinder Singh has been given additional charge as Municipal Commissioner Moga along with his existing role as ADC (General) Moga.

In the IPS cadre, Surinderjit Singh Mond has been appointed DIG (Jails), while Kanwaldeep Singh has been posted as AIG Crime. Param Bir Singh Parmar has been assigned the role of AIG Law and Order-II, Punjab.

Several PPS officers were also shifted. Key appointments include Jaskiranjit Singh as DCP Rural Ludhiana, Jashandeep Singh Gill as ADCP-IV Ludhiana, Ajay Raj Singh as Assistant Commandant 1st IRB Patiala, and Rajan Sharma as SP Investigation Ludhiana Rural.

Other notable postings include Tarun Ratan as SP Investigation Fazilka, Satvir Singh as Commandant 7th IRB Kapurthala, Gurpreet Singh Sahota as ADCP PBI Amritsar, Harkamal Kaur as SP Headquarters Shri Muktsar Sahib, Sandeep Kumar as SP Investigation Batala and Manpreet as SP Operation Hoshiarpur.

Harpreet Kaur Gill has been posted as SP Headquarters Khanna, Sukhninder Singh as SP Headquarters Tarn Taran, Rupinder Deep Kaur Sohi as SP BOI Chandigarh, Damanbir Singh as SP Headquarters ANTF SAS Nagar and Dharamvir Singh as SP Headquarters Ferozepur.

While the government has described the reshuffle as routine, the transfer of DSP and ADC (Rural) level officers is being viewed in the context of the upcoming local body elections.
