New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a 15-day-old baby boy was allegedly tortured and abandoned in a forest in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district on Tuesday.
Police said the infant was thrown near Sita Ka Kund temple in Mandalgarh after a stone was forced into his mouth and sealed with glue to suppress his cries.
The incident came to light when a cattle herder spotted the baby lying near a pile of stones, writhing in pain. Locals rushed to the spot, removed the stone and took the child to a government hospital in Bijolia.
Doctors confirmed the baby had gum injuries and marks on his thighs. “The child is about 15 to 20 days old and is undergoing treatment,” hospital officials said.
Police are investigating the case to identify those responsible for the act.
