Jalandhar News (Pawan Dhupar): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Raman Arora received relief from the court in Jalandhar Central on Monday, as the Jalandhar Sessions Court granted him bail in an extortion case. The court has ordered Arora to furnish a bail bond of Rs 25,000.
Raman Arora was arrested on May 23, 2025, following an extortion case registered at Ramamandi police station. During the investigation, the police recovered about Rs 5.5 lakh in cash, around one kilogram of gold ornaments, and some silver items from his residence.
After his arrest, Arora was initially sent on a five-day police remand for questioning, which was later extended by four more days. Subsequently, the court sent him to judicial custody for 14 days, with a brief three-day police remand in between.
Arora’s lawyer, Darshan Singh Dayal, said the court accepted the bail plea, and his client will be released from jail today.
