New Delhi: Amid rising tensions in West Asia involving Israel, Iran and the United States, Air India and its subsidiary Air India Express on Wednesday announced that they will operate a total of 58 flights to the region.
Despite airspace restrictions and heightened caution due to the security situation, the airline said scheduled services to Muscat will continue without disruption.
According to the announcement, Air India will operate eight flights to Jeddah on Wednesday. Air India Express will run 14 flights to Muscat from major Indian cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kozhikode to ensure smooth travel for passengers.
Apart from these regular services, the two airlines will also operate 36 special non-scheduled (ad-hoc) flights to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The airlines said these flights will depend on approvals from Indian and local regulatory authorities as well as slot availability.
Air India Express will operate services from several cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kannur, Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi.
The airline said it will continue to monitor the situation closely and maintain operations while ensuring all safety protocols are followed so that air connectivity with the region remains uninterrupted despite the prevailing tensions.
