Air India cuts West Asia operations, suspends flights to key destinations

New Delhi: Air India Group on Sunday announced a reduction in its West Asia operations, operating a total of 32 scheduled and non-scheduled flights amid the evolving regional situation.

The airline said ad-hoc services to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have been scaled down, with 12 flights operating to cities such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. However, services to Ras Al Khaimah and Al Ain remain suspended. Connectivity from Indian cities including Delhi, Kochi, Amritsar and Kannur will continue.

Flights to Muscat in Oman and Jeddah and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia will also operate on a limited basis, while routes to Salalah and Dammam have been temporarily suspended.

Meanwhile, services to Bahrain, Doha, Kuwait and Tel Aviv have been completely suspended until further notice.

Air India said passengers affected by cancellations can either reschedule their tickets without additional charges or opt for a full refund.

The airline added that long-haul flights to North America, Europe and Australia are operating as per schedule.

IndiGo has also stated that it is running only select flights to the Middle East after reviewing the situation. Passengers have been advised to keep their contact details updated to receive the latest travel information.
