Anil Vij criticises Aniruddhacharya over controversial remarks on women

Chandigarh: Haryana Cabinet Minister Anil Vij on Monday criticised Aniruddhacharya, the preacher associated with Gauri Gopal Ashram in Vrindavan, over his recent controversial comments about women.

Speaking to reporters in Ambala, Vij said, “There is a big difference between a storyteller and a saint. Anyone can become a storyteller by reading four books.”

He added, “The preacher Aniruddhacharya has made several controversial statements. A saint is someone who has attained spiritual knowledge through renunciation and penance, someone who is spiritually connected with God. People should not pay attention to such narrators. Instead, they should listen to true saints who speak the ultimate truth.”

Vij’s remarks come after a video of Aniruddhacharya went viral, in which he responded to a young man’s question by making derogatory comments about women, claiming “girls come in 4-5 places.” The statement has sparked widespread outrage across the country.
