Anindita Mitra appointed Punjab chief electoral officer

Chandigarh: The Election Commission of India has appointed 2007-batch Punjab cadre IAS officer Anindita Mitra as the new Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Punjab.

Mitra replaces IAS officer Sibin C, who was serving as Punjab’s Chief Electoral Officer and has now proceeded on central deputation.

The appointment has been made to ensure continuity in election-related administration in the state.

Officials said Mitra will take charge with immediate effect and oversee all electoral processes and preparations in Punjab in accordance with the directives of the Election Commission of India.
