New Delhi: Aaj Tak anchor Anjana Om Kashyap is facing severe backlash on social media after reports falsely claiming that veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra had passed away at the age of 89. The Deol family later confirmed that the actor, who was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on November 11, 2025, had been discharged the next day and was recovering at home.
The false news of Dharmendra’s demise reportedly aired on Aaj Tak, leading to widespread criticism of Anjana Om Kashyap. Many users accused the anchor of spreading unverified information and showing insensitivity towards the actor’s family.
Following the outrage, a disturbing reel surfaced online showing a man placing a funeral garland on Anjana’s poster. The video, which went viral, sparked another wave of reactions — this time condemning the act as disrespectful and extreme.
One user commented, “No, this is not done! Please stop this,” while another said, “Yes, this seems equally incorrect as the earlier one. Two wrongs don’t make a right.”
Amid the controversy, Anjana Om Kashyap has remained active on social media, but criticism continues to pour in, with many calling for greater responsibility in news reporting.
