Another CCTV footage shows panic moments after Delhi blast near Red Fort metro

New Delhi: A new CCTV footage of the Delhi blast has surfaced, showing panic at a mobile shop in Chandni Chowk moments after the explosion. The video captures people rushing inside shops and running through the narrow lanes following the blast.

The explosion occurred near the parking lot of the Red Fort metro station at 6.52 pm on Tuesday, leaving 12 people dead and over 20 injured. Among the deceased are two women. So far, two bodies have been identified while the remaining will be confirmed through DNA tests.

By Tuesday evening, the forensic team had collected 42 pieces of evidence from the site, including parts of the i20 car in which the blast took place — tyres, chassis, CNG cylinder, bonnet fragments and other components. Officials said examination of these materials will begin on Wednesday.

According to media reports, the preliminary findings of the Delhi Police suggest that Dr Mohammad Umar Nabi, who was in the car, had been sitting in the metro station parking lot for three hours before the explosion, as revealed by parking CCTV footage.

The probe into the car blast has now been transferred to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
