Boston: Astronomer CEO Andy Byron has resigned after a video showing him with the company’s HR head at a Coldplay concert in Boston went viral on social media.
“Andy Byron has tendered his resignation and the board of directors has accepted it,” the company said in a statement on Saturday. In a social media post, the company added that it expects good character and accountability from its officials, but “this has not happened in the last few days,” and an internal investigation is underway. Byron had earlier been sent on leave.
According to reports, the incident took place during a Coldplay show at a stadium in Boston, where a camera turned towards Byron and Kristin, the company’s HR head, capturing the two together.
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin reportedly joked that the two were either “having an affair” or were “very shy,” prompting laughter from the audience. The couple then left the venue, but the clip quickly went viral across social media platforms.
