Hanumangarh: At least ten people, including some minors, were injured in a violent clash near Gurdwara Mehtabgarh in Goluwala, Hanumangarh. The attackers reportedly forced people present inside the Gurdwara to come out. Officials said the situation is tense but under control.
As a precaution, the administration ordered the closure of educational institutions in the area and suspended internet services. A heavy police deployment has been made, including personnel from 15 police stations and two units of the Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC).
Multiple cases have been registered against the accused, who face charges of sacrilege. According to the FIR, around 50 individuals, armed with country-made pistols and sharp weapons, breached the Gurdwara complex and attacked devotees who were asleep inside.
Among the injured are Balkaran Singh, Kabul Singh, Simranjeet Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Angrez Singh, Naib Singh, and Jaswinder Singh, some of whom have been referred to Sri Ganganagar hospital for serious injuries.
The head sevadar of the Gurdwara, Harmit Kaur, alleged that attackers snatched mobile phones from devotees and stole approximately ₹1.70 lakh. The attempt to seize the Gurdwara took place even while Section 144 was in force. Goluwala police have named 16 individuals in the case, with SHO Harbans Lal leading the investigation.
