Islamabad: At least 30 civilians, mostly women and children, were killed in an airstrike by the Pakistan Air Force in Step-Dara village of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Tirah Valley in the early hours of Monday, according to sources.
The attacks reportedly began around 2 a.m., when JF-17 fighter jets dropped at least eight Chinese-origin LS-6 bombs on the remote settlement.
Eyewitnesses described scenes of devastation, with bodies lying on debris-strewn streets as survivors dug through collapsed houses with their bare hands.
A source said, “The entire family has been wiped out. Most of the victims are women and children who had no chance of escape.”
