Jalandhar: A court in Jalandhar on Thursday delivered a key ruling in connection with a viral video involving Atishi Marlena, an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA and former Delhi chief minister.
The court observed that the viral video had been tampered with and said a forensic examination confirmed that the clip was edited. Based on the findings, the court directed all social media platforms to remove the video and ordered the deletion of all related links from accounts that had shared it.
The case stems from a complaint filed against Atishi alleging the use of objectionable language against Sikh gurus. The FIR was registered on the basis of a complaint by Iqbal Singh Bagga, a resident of the Mitthu Basti area in Jalandhar.
Atishi had earlier been accused of using inappropriate language against Sikh gurus during a discussion in the Delhi Legislative Assembly. The court’s ruling, citing forensic evidence, has now concluded that the viral clip linked to the allegations was manipulated.
