Awareness camp on infant and child nutrition organized in Didanu under Nutrition Month

Mandi, October 8. On the occasion of National Nutrition Month, an awareness camp on infant and child nutrition was organised on Wednesday at Anganwadi Centre Didnu (Circle Baroti) under Child Development Project Dharampur.

The camp was chaired by Community Health Officer Sushma Devi. The program was conducted under the leadership of Supervisor Sumna Devi. Present on the occasion were Mahila Mandal President Geeta Devi, Self-Help Group President Champa Devi, ASHA worker Babli Devi, Panchayat member Meena Devi, Anganwadi workers Sharda Devi, Sunita Devi, Vimala Devi, and local women.

During the program, participants were given information on preventing malnutrition in infants and young children and developing healthy eating habits. Experts explained that infants should be breastfed within one hour of birth and should be exclusively breastfed for six months, with no water, milk, or other foods. After six months, nutritious home-cooked food should be gradually introduced, while breastfeeding should continue.

On this occasion, local public representatives, women’s organizations and self-help groups took active part.
