Chandigarh: Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa’s counsel appeared before the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission on Wednesday in connection with a notice issued to him by Commission chairman Jasvir Singh Garhi.
Advocate Arvind Singh Sachdeva, representing Bajwa, told the Commission that his client could not appear in person due to prior engagements. He said a written reply had already been submitted and sought 15 days’ time to furnish a detailed response.
The Commission accepted the request and fixed February 26 as the next date of hearing.
Commission chairman Jasvir Singh Garhi said the submissions made by Bajwa’s counsel would be examined and further action would be taken accordingly.
