Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has granted bail to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Punjab AAP president Aman Arora, Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, MLA Baljinder Kaur, MLA Jai Singh Rori and several other leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party.
The high court has also quashed both FIRs registered against the AAP leaders in Chandigarh in 2020 and 2021. The cases were linked to protests held against the hike in power tariff in Punjab and later demonstrations following the Lakhimpur Kheri incident.
All the leaders, including CM Mann, had moved the High Court seeking quashing of the FIRs. The court has now stayed any further action in both cases, giving relief to the party leadership.
