Bomb threat emails trigger search operation at two Jalandhar schools amid exams

Jalandhar: Two prominent schools in Jalandhar received bomb threat emails on Monday morning, triggering panic in the city as annual examinations are currently underway.

The schools targeted include Police DAV Public School located inside the PAP grounds and a branch of Apeejay School in Rama Mandi. A large number of students at Police DAV are children of Punjab Police personnel.

Search operation launched

Soon after receiving information about the threatening emails, the Commissionerate Police rushed heavy police contingents to both campuses and launched thorough search operations.

The emails sparked fear among students and parents, though school authorities had not announced closure at the time of reporting.

Email being traced

Police officials said investigations are underway to determine the origin of the emails. Technical teams have been deployed to trace the source and verify the credibility of the threat.

Jalandhar schools had received similar bomb threat emails in the past as well. Authorities said appropriate security protocols have been activated and further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
