New Delhi: The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of the Delhi government has registered a case against former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ministers Saurabh Bhardwaj and Satyendar Jain over alleged irregularities in health infrastructure projects during the previous AAP government, officials said on Thursday.
The action comes days after the Union Home Ministry granted approval for an ACB probe under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The AAP has not issued any immediate response to the development.
The case is based on a complaint filed last year by BJP leader Vijender Gupta. According to officials, 24 hospital projects — including 11 greenfield and 13 brownfield facilities — were sanctioned during 2018–19 with a proposed cost of ₹5,590 crore.
Authorities allege that the projects faced unexplained delays and saw significant cost escalation. The case was registered following approval under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act from the competent authority.
