Case registered against Raja Warring for remarks on late Buta Singh

KAPURTHALA: A case has been registered at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Kapurthala against Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president and Ludhiana MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring for allegedly making derogatory and objectionable remarks about former Union minister late Buta Singh.

The complaint was filed by Sarabjot Singh Sidhu, nephew of the late leader and son of former minister Joginder Singh Mann. Sidhu alleged that while addressing a public gathering during the Tarn Taran by-election campaign, Raja Warring made objectionable comments about Buta Singh, referring to his late father’s caste and physical appearance.

According to the complaint, the Congress leader allegedly said that Buta Singh was made the Union Home Minister “just because he was a black Majhbi Sikh, who used to feed buffaloes.” Sidhu claimed the remarks were socially derogatory and intended to insult not only his father’s legacy but the entire religious Sikh community.
