Chandigarh: A CBI court on Thursday denied bail to suspended Deputy Inspector General Harcharan Singh Bhullar in a disproportionate assets case, refusing to grant him relief at this stage.
The court observed that the allegations require detailed examination and that the investigation and judicial process are still underway. Bhullar has been accused of possessing assets allegedly disproportionate to his known sources of income during his period of service.
The prosecution opposed the bail plea, arguing that the case involves serious charges and financial scrutiny, while the defence sought interim relief.
After hearing both sides, the court decided not to extend bail and listed the matter for further consideration on a later date.
