Chandigarh: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday began examining the bank lockers of former DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar in Chandigarh as part of an ongoing probe.
A CBI team reached the HDFC Bank branch in Sector 9 this morning and inspected Bhullar’s locker. During the search, the agency reportedly recovered property papers, gold, and other items, which were taken into custody. Officials said four more lockers linked to Bhullar are yet to be opened, pending permission from the bank.
According to sources, about 50 grams of gold and several property-related documents have been recovered so far. The CBI has also seized a diary believed to contain important information related to financial dealings and contacts.
Sources further revealed that another diary was recovered from Bhullar’s residence in Sector 40. The diary reportedly contains contact numbers of various individuals and details related to banks. Based on this information, the CBI has started issuing summons to several businessmen for questioning.
