Chandigarh: A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team on Thursday reached the residence of Punjab DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, who was caught in a bribery case, eight days after his arrest.
According to sources, around 11 officers arrived from Delhi by train at about 2:30 pm and began searching Bhullar’s house. The operation, which is being videographed, is taking place in the presence of his family members.
Officials entered the house carrying documents, a camera and a printer. They are inspecting and recording details of every item, from utensils to electric bulbs, across all floors of the house. The value of each item is being assessed to prepare a detailed inventory report.
A day earlier, the CBI had opened Bhullar’s bank locker, from which several important documents were recovered. Officials said the investigation is aimed at assessing assets allegedly disproportionate to his known sources of income.
