Chandigarh: Punjab Police DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday on charges of corruption, was produced before a CBI court in Chandigarh after a medical examination. The court remanded him in judicial custody for 14 days.
During the investigation, the CBI recovered cash worth ₹7.5 crore and 2.5 kg of gold from Bhullar’s house and other locations, exceeding earlier reports of ₹5 crore and 1.5 kg of gold. Speaking to the media, Bhullar denied the allegations, claiming he has been falsely implicated.
The CBI had earlier raided Bhullar’s Kothi in Sector 40 of Chandigarh, seizing keys to BMW and Audi cars, property documents across Punjab, a farmhouse in Samrala, 22 luxury watches, 40 litres of foreign liquor, a double-barrel gun, pistols, revolvers, airguns, and a large quantity of ammunition.
