Bengaluru: The charred body of a 13-year-old boy who went missing on Wednesday evening was found on the side of Kaggalipura Road in Bengaluru, police said. The deceased, identified as Nishcha, was a Class 8 student at Christ School.
According to police, Nishcha left his home on Arekere 80 Feet Road around 5 pm to attend tuition classes but did not return by 7.30 pm.
His father, Jesse Achit, an assistant professor at a private college, lodged a missing person and kidnapping complaint after the child could not be traced.
The tuition teacher informed the parents that the boy had left on time. During the search, Nishcha’s bicycle was discovered near the Arekere Family Park. A short while later, the family received a ransom call demanding Rs 5 lakh from an unknown number.
Based on the ransom call and the circumstances, Hulimavu police registered a case of kidnapping. The investigation is ongoing, and police are treating the incident as a possible case of abduction and murder.
