Jalandhar Gymkhana Club comes forward to help flood-affected people
Jalandhar News (Pawan Dhupar): To help flood-affected people, Jalandhar Gymkhana Club today presented a cheque of Rs.11 lakh to Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal for the Chief Minister Rangla Punjab Fund.
Under the guidance of Divisional Commissioner Jalandhar, Mr. Arun Sekhri, who is also the President of Jalandhar Gymkhana Club, the cheque was handed over to the Deputy Commissioner by the Club Secretary, Sandeep Behl.
On this occasion, Dr. Aggarwal lauded the humanitarian initiative of the club, stating that this contribution would prove instrumental in bringing back normalcy in the lives of people affected by floods. He said that this amount will further strengthen the ongoing relief operations for flood victims.
He further said that the Punjab Government is continuously engaged in providing relief to the flood-affected people. Along with this, social service organizations and philanthropists are also extending their contributions. He added that the support extended by the club will also inspire other institutions and citizens.
In addition, Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus, Jalandhar also handed over a cheque of Rs.1.51 lakh to the Deputy Commissioner for the Chief Minister Rangla Punjab Fund.
Appreciating this compassionate gesture of the college, Dr. Aggarwal said that along with contributing to building the future of the nation, it is also highly inspiring for educational institutions to step forward for social service.
Under the guidance of the campus Director, Dr. Ramandeep Singh Deol, the cheque was handed over to Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal by Assistant Director Dr. Abhishek Sachdeva, Dean Student Welfare Dr. Nidhi Chopra, Aman, and Navneet.
Dr. Aggarwal also appealed to other philanthropists, social service organizations, and citizens to come forward to help the flood-affected.
