Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann arrived in South Korea on Sunday as part of his Mission Investment initiative. In Seoul, he met India’s Ambassador to South Korea, Gau Rangalal Das, and held discussions on strengthening trade and investment ties between Punjab and South Korea.
Mann is scheduled to spend two days in Korea, during which several key issues relating to industry and economic cooperation will be taken up. The state government said the talks placed special focus on expanding business partnerships and attracting foreign investment into Punjab.
The Chief Minister is currently on a 10-day foreign tour, accompanied by industrialist Sanjeev Gupta, Chief Secretary KAP Sinha, and senior officials from the investment promotion department. The visit aims to highlight Punjab as an emerging investment destination.
The state government is preparing to host the Progressive Punjab Business Summit in March next year. Officials said companies are being actively approached to participate and invest in the state. Several major firms, including Tata Steel, have already made significant investments in Punjab.
