Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has warned that those vandalising and creating nuisance during the Kanwar Yatra will face strict action, with their posters to be put up publicly after the yatra concludes. The Chief Minister made the remarks during a press briefing held after he showered flowers on Kanwariyas.
CM Yogi, adopting a strong tone, said that those trying to defame the Kanwar Yatra will be identified through CCTV footage and exposed. “Those who are hiding in the disguise of miscreants will be exposed,” he said.
He further said that while the Kanwar Yatra is marked by devotion and reverence, there is a “concerted attempt” to discredit this enthusiasm through social media and other means. He urged devotees not to allow such elements to create disturbances during the religious journey.
The Chief Minister also appealed to devotees not to take the law into their own hands against those who break Kanwars or hurt religious sentiments but to inform the administration about such incidents.
