COMMISSIONERATE POLICE JALANDHAR NAB ACCUSED WITH 40 GRAMS OF HEROIN

Punjab E News (Pawan Dhupar): Under the Punjab Government’s campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh” with the directions of Commissioner of Police Jalandhar, Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur, and supervision of DCP/Investigation Sh. Manpreet Singh Dhillon, ADCP/Investigation Sh. Jayant Puri and ACP Sh. Amarveer Singh, a police team led by Incharge CIA Staff, Inspector Surinder Kumar, successfully apprehended one accused with 40 grams of heroin.

Divulging the details, the CP Jalandhar informed that on October 12, 2025, a team of CIA Staff was conducting a checkpoint operation at Mission Compound, Jalandhar, when a suspect was intercepted based on suspicion. During interrogation, the accused was identified as Shubham alias Goru, son of Sunil Kumar, resident of House No. 1897, near Balmiki Mandir, Daresi Ground, Ludhiana. Upon his search, 40 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.

Subsequently, an FIR No. 124 dated 12.10.2025 under Section 21-61-85 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Division No. 2, Jalandhar. It was further revealed that the accused already has a previous case registered against him under the NDPS Act at Police Station Division No. 4, Ludhiana.

The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police reiterated that the war against drugs will continue relentlessly, and strict legal action will be taken against every individual associated with the drug network to make the city drug-free.
