COMMISSIONERATE POLICE JALANDHAR NABS TWO ACCUSED WITH 200 GRAMS OF HEROIN AND A .32 BORE PISTOL

Jalandhar News (Pawan Dhupar): In a major crackdown to maintain law & order and curb criminal activities in the city, the CIA Staff team of Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has apprehended two accused in two separate cases and recovered 200 grams of heroin, one 32 bore pistol, and two live cartridges from their possession.

Sharing details, Commissioner of Police Jalandhar, Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur said that under the ongoing “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign initiated by the Punjab Government, these operations were carried out under the supervision of Sh. Manpreet Singh Dhillon (DCP/Investigation), Sh. Jayant Puri (ADCP/Investigation), Sh. Paramjit Singh (ADCP) and Sh. Amberveer Singh (ACP-D), led by Inspector Surinder Kumar, Incharge CIA Staff Jalandhar.

On October 6, 2025, during routine patrolling and checking near Dakoha Phatak Bridge, Jalandhar, the police team received information that a person armed with an illegal weapon was roaming around with the intent to commit a crime. Acting swiftly, the police apprehended the accused Davinder Kumar, son of Shiv Dayal, resident of VPO Dhannowali, Jalandhar, and recovered one .32 bore pistol along with two live cartridges from his possession. Accordingly, an FIR No. 287 dated 06.10.2025 under Sections 25-54-59 of the Arms Act was registered at Police Station Rama Mandi, Jalandhar.

She further said that in another operation on October 7, 2025, another team of CIA Staff Jalandhar apprehended Harpreet Singh alias Happy, son of Baljeet Singh, resident of village Bhaini Sidhwan, Police Station Sadar, District Tarn Taran, near Transport Nagar, Jalandhar. Upon search, 200 grams of heroin were recovered from his possession. An FIR No. 237 dated 07.10.2025 under Sections 21-61-85 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Division No. 8, Jalandhar against the accused.

The accused Harpreet Singh alias Happy was also previously involved in another criminal case. Both accused are currently on police remand, and interrogation is underway to trace their forward and backward linkages.
