Chandigarh: A local court has restrained Congress leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira from making any defamatory statements against Rajbir Singh Ghuman, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, until further orders.
The interim order was passed on Thursday in a defamation case filed by Ghuman. The court also issued a notice to Khaira for August 11. In his plea, Ghuman told the court that Khaira had made baseless and deliberate allegations of corruption to damage his reputation.
Responding to the court’s action, Khaira posted on X on Friday morning, “I have just come to know through the media that a local court has issued me a defamation notice for August 11 on the complaint of CM’s OSD, which I have not yet received!”
He added, “I would like to place on record that I will continue to raise the issue of the wrong purchase of 144 Toyota Hilux pickup trucks by @bhagwantmann as Home Minister in the name of @dgppunjab and take this issue of corruption by @aap leaders to its logical conclusion.”
