Delhi High Court accepts petition by Karisma Kapoor’s children in property dispute, next hearing on Oct 9

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday accepted a petition filed by actress Karisma Kapoor’s children, Samaira Kapoor (20) and her 15-year-old brother, seeking a share in their late father Sanjay Kapoor’s property.

The court also issued notice to Priya Kapoor, widow of the late industrialist, and listed the matter for further hearing on October 9.

The children alleged that Priya Kapoor had forged a will to claim Sanjay Kapoor’s property. Contesting the allegations, Priya told the court that Karisma’s children had already received Rs 1,900 crore from the family trust. “What else do they want?” she asked.

During the hearing before Justice Jyoti Singh, Priya’s counsel argued, “It is not that people have been left on the streets. The will may not be registered, but that does not make it illegal. All this noise is happening just six days before the trial. The plaintiffs already received Rs 1,900 crore from the trust.”

The court has sought a response from Priya Kapoor within two weeks and directed the preparation of a list of properties. The case will be heard again on October 9.
