Chandigarh: A man allegedly poisoned his two children and later consumed the same toxic drink himself in Faridabad’s Roshan Nagar area under Palla police station, police said on Sunday.
All three were rushed to a hospital in critical condition, where they later died during treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Nizam (34), his son Dilshad (12), and daughter Shaima (10). Nizam, who worked as an autorickshaw driver, was originally from Budheta village in Bihar’s Samastipur district and had been living in a rented house in Roshan Nagar.
Police said preliminary investigation suggests that Nizam was mentally disturbed due to ongoing family tensions, particularly after his wife left him. The incident is under investigation.
