CHANDIGARH: A case of alleged attempted suicide by former IPS officer Amar Singh Chahal came to light on Monday. Police said his condition remains critical.
According to officials, Chahal sustained serious chest injuries and was rushed to Park Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Doctors have not yet given a final update on his condition.
Police said a note was recovered from the spot in which Chahal reportedly referred to financial losses and mental distress.
Preliminary findings suggest the distress was allegedly linked to an online fraud. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident.
