SRINAGAR: Four boys were injured in a blast on Wednesday afternoon in Tutigund village of Handwara, located in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said.
According to police, the explosion occurred while some children were playing cricket in an open field.
The injured have been identified as Uzair Tahir, Sajid Rashid, Hajim Shabbir and Ziyan Tahir, all residents of the village. They were immediately taken to the Government Medical College (GMC) in Handwara for treatment.
The loud explosion triggered panic in the area. Locals and security personnel rushed to the spot and helped shift the injured to hospital. Police later reached the site, cordoned off the area, and launched an investigation to determine the nature of the blast.
