Chandigarh: In a significant development, four senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers from the Punjab cadre have been selected by the Government of India for appointment to the post of Director General of Police (DGP) or its equivalent rank.
The officers include Amardeep Singh Rai, Anita Punj, Praveen Kumar Sinha, and Sudhanshu Srivastava — all from the 1994 batch.
They are among 35 IPS officers across the country who have been approved for elevation to the DGP-level post.
The selection is being seen as a major achievement for the Punjab Police, reflecting the professional capabilities and leadership within the state’s senior police ranks.
