Chandigarh: Two bike-borne assailants opened fire at a gym owner in Mohali’s Phase-2 area early Thursday morning, leaving him critically injured. The incident took place around 4:50 am when the attackers fired five rounds at Vicky, the gym owner, four of which hit him.
According to eyewitnesses, a gym trainer rushed Vicky to Indus Hospital on a bike before he was referred to Chandigarh due to his critical condition. Family members have alleged that the attack was carried out due to enmity.
Police teams from Mohali and Chandigarh reached the spot and began investigations. CCTV footage from the area shows the attackers fleeing on a bike after the firing.
Authorities also revealed that the same assailants allegedly opened fire at a hotel in Kajheri, Chandigarh, which belongs to Vicky’s friend.
