Chandigarh: Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini announced at a rally that Hansi will be made the 23rd district of Haryana. He said the official notification declaring Hansi as a district would be issued within a week.
Following the creation of the new district, Hisar district will have two sub-divisions—Hisar and Barwala. The newly formed Hansi district will comprise two sub-divisions, Hansi and Narnond.
The announcement was welcomed by local residents, who have been demanding district status for Hansi for several years, citing administrative convenience and faster delivery of public services.
