Chandigarh: The Haryana government has decided to recommend a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the death of former Punjab DGP Mohammad Mustafa’s son, Aqeel Akhtar.

Officials from Panchkula Police confirmed the move, citing interstate jurisdiction as one of the key reasons behind the decision.

Earlier, on October 20, Haryana Police had registered a case against former DGP Mohammad Mustafa and his wife, former minister Razia Sultana, for allegedly killing their son, Aqeel Akhtar. Akhtar’s wife and sister, identified as V, have also been named in the case.
