Haryana suspends two IAS officers amid suspected IDFC Bank fraud link

Chandigarh: The Haryana government has suspended two senior IAS officers, with orders issued by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi. The suspension order, however, does not specify the reasons.

Sources indicate that the action may be linked to the recently surfaced IDFC Bank fraud case. The suspended officers are Pradeep Kumar-I (2011 batch) and Ram Kumar Singh (2012 batch).

Pradeep Kumar was serving as Director and Special Secretary in the State Transport Department, while Ram Kumar Singh held the post of Special Secretary in the Revenue and Disaster Management Department and was also Additional CEO of the Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority (PMDA).

The move has also been linked to the transfer of 15 IAS officers announced late Wednesday night. Reports suggest a CBI probe into the alleged IDFC Bank fraud may begin soon, and the government has already sidelined multiple officers ahead of the investigation.

According to separate orders issued by the Chief Secretary’s office, both officers have been suspended under the All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1969.

During the suspension period, their headquarters will remain at the Chief Secretary’s Services-I branch in Chandigarh, and they will be entitled to subsistence allowance as per rules.
