Chandigarh: Haryana is expected to receive an additional 600 MW of power with the construction of the Kishau dam project, which will be built on Himachal Pradesh’s land at an estimated cost of Rs 7,000-8,000 crore.

Spread over 5,400 acres, the project will be jointly developed by the Haryana and Himachal Pradesh governments in collaboration with the central government.

Currently, Haryana receives 47% of its total water supply from the Kishau dam. The new project is expected to strengthen water supply while significantly boosting power generation in the state.

In this context, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini discussed the project with Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his visit to Delhi. CM Saini said a high-level discussion on the matter has been held and indicated that good news regarding the project is expected soon.
