Chandigarh: In a meeting of the High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC) chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the Haryana government approved a decision to provide free sanitary pads to all girl students from classes 6 to 12 in government schools across the state.
Procurement proposals worth over Rs 1,763 crore were cleared in the meeting, covering key sectors including health, education, transport, and power. Officials said the move aims to improve the health and hygiene of school-going girls.
