Heritage road to finally take shape at Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib After 55 Years – Bhagwant mann government delivers on historic promise

Punjab E News: The Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab has taken a historic decision by announcing the construction of a heritage road in front of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Gurdwara. This is the same road project whose foundation was laid in 1970, but in the past 55 years, no government made any effort to complete it. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s government has now taken up the responsibility of completing this pending project.

Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib is one of the five major Takhts of Sikhism, and it was here in 1699 that Guru Gobind Singh Ji established the Khalsa Panth. This place is extremely sacred and important for the Sikh community. The road project passing in front of this holy place had been lying incomplete for decades, which is now going to become a reality.

When the foundation stone of this project was laid in 1970, it was hoped that this road would be ready soon. But various governments after independence did not give priority to this project. Whether it was the Akali-BJP alliance or the Congress government, none paid attention to this. In the name of devotees’ convenience and heritage conservation, only promises were made, but the work did not materialize on the ground.

Previous governments claimed to have spent crores of rupees in the name of development of Takht Sahib, but in reality, people got nothing. Basic projects like the heritage road also remained incomplete. Millions of devotees come here every year, especially during Vaisakhi and Hola Mohalla, but they had to face the dilapidated condition of the road. Old governments had merely made the development of religious places an electoral issue.

As soon as Bhagwant Mann’s government came to power, it took a pledge to preserve and develop Punjab’s religious heritage. The Chief Minister has clearly stated that people’s money will be used for people’s work, not for corruption. The Mann government has now decided to complete this 55-year-old incomplete project, which demonstrates their commitment.

The construction of the heritage road will not only provide convenience to devotees coming to Takht Sahib, but the entire area of Anandpur Sahib will develop. This road will also boost local trade and create new employment opportunities. Tourism will also gain momentum as better road infrastructure will bring more devotees and tourists here.

This project is a symbol of Bhagwant Mann government’s thinking that believes in implementing development on the ground. Where old governments only kept making announcements, the AAP government is showing results through action. The construction of the heritage road is proof of the government’s commitment to Punjab’s religious and cultural heritage.

The people of Anandpur Sahib and the Sikh community are welcoming this decision. The 55-year wait is now about to end. What old governments could not do in decades, Bhagwant Mann’s government is going to complete soon. This shows the Mann government’s responsibility and sensitivity towards the people of Punjab.
