High Court adjourns hearing on Bikram Singh Majithia’s bail plea till November 10

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday adjourned the hearing on the bail plea of senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia in a case related to assets beyond known sources of income. The court will now take up the matter on November 10.

Majithia was arrested by the Vigilance Bureau on June 25 from his residence in Amritsar for allegedly amassing disproportionate assets. He was produced before a Mohali court the next day and sent to police custody for seven days.

During his remand, the Vigilance team also took him to Majitha and Shimla for questioning. Later, he was remanded to judicial custody and lodged at the New Jail in Nabha.
